Phoenix Afterlife

Editorial Policy

Phoenix Afterlife helps readers explore grief, continuing bonds, afterlife beliefs, and experiences after loss without forcing religious certainty, scientific certainty, disbelief, or closure. This policy explains how we try to make that work accurate, useful, and emotionally responsible.

Our editorial principles

We put the reader’s dignity and agency first. We do not diagnose, prescribe, promise contact with someone who died, present one tradition as the universal answer, or use a fixed grief timeline. We avoid urgency and fear-based language, especially when a reader may be newly bereaved.

Every guide aims to separate four different kinds of information:

  • Research: findings from original studies, reviews, or authoritative public-health sources, with important limits stated plainly.
  • Tradition: teachings or practices attributed to a named tradition or community rather than presented as universal fact.
  • Lived experience: what bereaved people report, without treating an account as proof of one explanation.
  • Editorial interpretation: our synthesis, questions, or practical suggestions, labelled and open to correction.

Sources, review, and updates

We prefer original research, systematic reviews, public institutions, and primary tradition sources. We use secondary sources for orientation, not as a substitute for checking material claims. Publication and materially reviewed dates are displayed on guides. A newer date means the page was reviewed or changed; it does not guarantee that every external service, price, or study is unchanged.

High-risk mental-health statements, crisis information, and commercial health claims receive additional scrutiny. Phoenix Afterlife is not a clinical service, and its content is not a substitute for care from a qualified health or mental-health professional.

Corrections

Small typographic fixes may be made without a notice. When a change materially affects a conclusion, recommendation, safety boundary, or description of evidence, we aim to note it on the page. Corrections can be requested at [email protected]. Include the page URL, the statement in question, and a reliable supporting source.

Independence and affiliate relationships

Editorial conclusions are not sold to advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners. A commercial relationship is disclosed before the relevant recommendation. Selection criteria include reader fit, privacy, accessibility, cancellation, total cost, safety, and non-commercial alternatives—not only commission.

AI-assisted work and illustrations

Human editorial responsibility remains with Phoenix Afterlife. AI-assisted drafts or images are reviewed for accuracy, originality, bias, and dignity. Editorial illustrations are symbolic: they do not depict documentary evidence, a real deceased person, or proof of an afterlife.

Immediate support

Phoenix Afterlife is not a monitored crisis channel. If you may harm yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In Canada, call or text 9-8-8. In the United States, call or text 988. Readers elsewhere should use their local crisis or emergency service.
